M&S Simply Food

Not customer focused. Staff chew gum when they serve, can be unpacking leaving a stack of trays in your way while merilly chatting to other customers. Also, the store closes very early for a supermarket and compared to other M&S stores so when I parked there at 1710 on a Friday to meet a friend for a coffee intending to pick up some food afterwards (you have 90 minutes). I never thought for an instant that they'd be closing at 6pm especially on a Friday - which supermarket with its own car park does that these days? There was no sign in the car park saying it would be shut at 6pm, only that it would shut when the store does and 6pm is so unusually early for such a shop, it needs to be specified at the point of entry. Even if I'd shopped first then gone for coffee I wouldn't have noticed as it's just in tiny writing on the door which you'd only look if you thought the store was likely to close. Good job I didn't as the food would have melted or gone off overnight. So all I wanted was that the store made sure no charge and that there'd be sign saying what time the. No, this will cost £85 and its up to me to claim it back from Euro car park if I can. They've got no interest in making sure I shop there again so that's not going to work. Surpsingly, the manager of the shop thinks M&S has so many customers, they can afford to take a legalistic approach and couldn't care less either! It's all my fault. Even if legalistically it's all my fault, it's not the approach a customer-focused store would take - it's all my fault and nothing to do with them. A shame, as it was a convenient place to go after we lost Aldi to the West End, but other supermarkets are available

Enjoy the range of goodgo there regular but recently it's stressful going around the shop trolleys everywhere blocking aisles blocking shelves, one trolleys at a time my wife on a mobility scooter can't get to shelves embarrassing to to ask staff to move which some are very rude and no common sense . Home deliveries sound less stressful . Rant over.

It's a misnomer to call this a department store. It is little more than a large M&S food store. Don't expect any clothing ranges other than half a dozen items of women's, men's & children's clothing. No cafe. Very disappointing.

Nice shop always plenty on offer good shop to be in when we have a heatwave great staff always three ti help out
