5 most relevant · via GoogleWent to self checkout last Sunday 19th of July around 4pm and was using coins, as I deposited £2 it asked would I like to continue and only gave me £1 back, I asked a member of staff, a short, middle aged lady came up, tried to help then shrugged us away after 1 minute saying “I have 12 other tills to attend to this isn’t my problem.” Very rudely, another member of staff approached, sadly I didn’t get his name but he was a legend, helped us out, saved the day, making sure the machine would actually take our coins. so me and my fiancé left that day a pound short and absolutely mugged off. Fuming, ain’t shopping here again. But that member of staff that helped us, give that man a raise.
Please be aware of a recurring issue I’ve noticed at Asda. The price displayed on the shelf often differs from the amount charged at the till. This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this, but I previously assumed it was just an honest mistake. However, Today 06/10/2025, I picked up a kitchen foil priced at £4.74 on the shelf. When I scanned it at the self-checkout, the price showed as £5.64. I asked for assistance, and a staff member from the self-scan area came over. Unfortunately, instead of checking the issue, she responded quite rudely, saying they didn’t have enough staff to verify the price, and simply voided the item from my shopping list. I was disappointed by this attitude — it felt like customers were being discouraged from purchasing items they actually needed. I chose not to argue, as I didn’t want the situation to escalate. Instead, I went back to the shelf, took a photo of the displayed price, and brought the item to a manned till. When the cashier scanned it, the price was again £5.64, confirming that this wasn’t an isolated issue. After I showed him the photo, he verified the discrepancy and adjusted the price accordingly. Asda should ensure that staff are properly trained to handle such situations with professionalism and courtesy. I was only able to notice the difference because I bought just a few items today. During a larger monthly shop, most customers might not catch these price inconsistencies — and that could lead to people unknowingly overpaying. Please be cautious and double-check your receipts when shopping at Asda.
Good shopping nice. Only problem. Clock radio only £10, Stopped working after a couple of hours, mislaid receit. Customer service rep. Not helpful at all. Shan't use any ASDA again. Totally let down.
Usually do our main food shop here. Can be frustrating at times when there is only one till open. There are self checkout tills but these can be so unreliable. Also the unsupervised disabled parking bays is a free for all. On the plus side, you have three hours to leave your car for a walk down the high street if you need a Turkish barber or your phone repaired. 🙄
It's just not a good shopping experience here, the staff need motivation as really can't be bothered. So often on the self checkout, the items are more than listed on the shelf and there is always the no staff excuse and even saying can you go and take a picture of it ...other times as today I was told I m not going to check as no staff so I'm just going to take it off..and she walked off with it...so how can I buy it? Terrible place . This needs a motivated manager in place and the staff need some customer skills.
