Pests of London LTD

Returning home after the holidays, I noticed ants in the kitchen. It was a Sunday morning. I called a few companies suggested by Google to deal with the problem. None of them had availability the same day. Only with Pests of London Ltd I managed to book a specialist the same day. A professional with years of experience came straight away. It took him 10-15 minutes to apply a special gel. The next morning there were no ants, and I haven’t seen any of them since.

Please, please, please avoid this company. THEY ARE NOT REGISTERED WITH THE BRITISH PEST CONTROL ASSOCIATION OR ANY OTHER REGULATORY BODY. I had a very disappointing experience with this pest control service. They attended my property to deal with a pest issue and although they caught one mouse, I still had mice in my bedroom. They put bait down in my kitchen, even though I asked that they put it in my bedroom where the problem was, and I would sleep somewhere else. They did not search my house for entry points but went to 1 area of the house to check where it might have been coming from. The problem was clearly not resolved and I phoned then back a week later. When I contacted them to explain that the issue was still ongoing, they came back but only checked the bait in my kitchen, despite being told the mice were in my bedroom. He took the bait away despite evidence a bit had been eaten. When I phoned back to ask them to complete the job I was told another visit would cost me. I was passed to the manager who was incredibly rude, telling me that i had been 'hysterical' and that is why the engineer had not put bait in my room. When I said that was not true and asked politely not to call me hysterical he continued to do so, saying he knew what the word meant. When I asked him to stop saying I was hysterical and as a psychologist I knew how offensive the word was, he told me 'don't try to belittle me'. My family were in the room listening and were astounded with his behaviour. He kept saying 'what do you want us to do about it?' And 'if you want our help we'll charge you again'. They were clearly only after more money despite not doing the job properly and lying about it (eg saying the engineer was not told to check the bedroom when he clearly was told, as was the person who answers the phone). This felt extremely unfair and unprofessional. If a company fails to complete the work they were originally paid to do, customers should not be expected to pay extra just for them to return and finish it. Overall, the service was poor, communication was frustrating, and insulting and the way this was handled left me feeling taken advantage of. I subsequently contacted another local pest control company who were the polar opposite: curteous, kind, professional and effective, and they charged almost half the amount. I would not recommend Pests of London AT ALL to anyone. You only have to read their reviews on Trustpilot to see the same complaints repeated and their responses show they take no accountability each time.

**DO NOT USE** Unfortunately, we used Pests of London recently as we had a mice problem. While we were originally happy with the service provided, on collecting the traps, Jamie snapped one of our Plinth’s. When we discussed this with him his solution to stick a piece of metal behind it to keep it together was unsatisfactory. We conveyed this to him. Only for him to then state it was old and brittle and that’s why it broke, kinda funny that the other plinths didn’t suffer the same fate. A lack of responsibility for your mistakes and care for your customers means we cannot recommend your company and would strongly suggest you look at your customer care policies. If you are thinking of using this company we would advise you look elsewhere.

Pests of London helped me with an urgent mouse situation, sending Ryan the technician within just a few hours on a weekend. Ryan was informative, respectful, and most importantly he was determined to catch the mouse. Mission accomplished! I am relieved and very happy I used this service.

The team were highly efficient. From calling and to the engineer turning up was brilliant. They stayed in contact throughout which was brilliant and the service was perfect. Thank you so much I would highly recommend!
