JL Builds Southwest Ltd

Jay and his team ensured everything was completed in an orderly manner according to the initial brief. We were delighted that the inevitable minor changes were fully discussed to ensure we were clear on options and decisions. We got exactly what we wanted and are very pleased with the end result. As a fully trusted contractor we have called them back for further work.

Jay and his team were a pleasure to work with. They worked over the weekend to fit us in last minute to their already busy schedule which was much appreciated. They were professional and knowledgeable and after completing the job went through in detail how the systems worked (installation of a rainwater harvesting system with mains water back up and plumbing for kitchen and bathroom for a commercial build). We wish they had been involved sooner with the initial design...it would have saved us a lot of headaches!

Jay and his team did a great job replacing an external deck and balustrading at a flat in Exeter - fully supplied and fitted. The shape of the deck had many complicated angles but all problems solved with no fuss and end result looks fantastic. 10/10 reccomend.

JL Builds have recently done a number of jobs for us, including laying paving slabs, curing drainage problems on an existing patio, installing drains, and replacing rotten sleepers in the garden. We have been delighted with the way that Jay and his team approached all these tasks, and the results are excellent. Jay himself is extremely thoughtful and considerate, and he paid great attention to the details of the work. The drainage problems on our patio proved more challenging than expected, and Jay and a stone-mason colleague of his came up with an excellent solution, which we are very happy with. Overall, strongly recommended - Mike and Hilary

Jay was really quick to respond to our enquiry and gave us a comprehensive quote broken down by phases so it was really easy to see the stages of the work. Despite a busy schedule, the team were on site within 2 weeks from agreement of the work. Despite challenges in an pld house with wonky floors and walls, Jay and his team worked professionally and quickly - problem solving and including us in decisions. The finished result ended in a beautifully laid engineered floor, that had to be built up again after joists had been repaired and replaced, the smooth removal of a sink and built in wardrobes, 2 newly replastered rooms and the replacemrnt of curtain rails and skirting boards in 3. Jay's motto is never to do an easy job over a good one, so everything is finished professionally and smoothly. However, he also knows how to work around an old house with many quirks and was quick to suggest options to work with the character of the house, not against it.
