Greycoat Lumleys

A huge thanks to Lesley and the amazing people at the Edinburgh office for all their efforts. I applied for a position a few weeks ago, and felt very supported throughout the process. The team was consistently responsive, transparent and friendly and made the overall experience a very positive one.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Greycoat Lumleys after I applied for a gardening role within the private sector. This was the first time I had applied via an agency and I was extremely impressed by the process. The staff went to great lengths to ensure that not only was I the right candidate for the role but also that the role was right for me. The application procedure was thorough yet efficient and friendly. I was successful with my application and have gone on to really enjoy my new role, it is the perfect job for me. I was also impressed by the follow up support once the role started, I received regular contact from Greycoat Lumleys who were very keen to ensure that everything was running smoothly. Finally, the staff are extremely friendly which made the often stressful process of seeking new employment an enjoyable experience.

Unhelpful and unprofessional staff. I made an enquiry here about a job that was posted online, and based on the two brief telephone conversations I had with their staff, and the unhelpful and quite defensive response of the person handling this post, I am not going to apply for the job. I think agencies often forget that recruitment is a 2 way street and that it's in their best interests to maintain good relations with potential candidates. This one was no exception.

Very disappointed at having my request to register turned down as I feel it was completely unjustified. At least this time I did get a response, as on an earlier attempt I never received any communication from them at all. It seems that unless you have worked in the domestic sector from finishing education, you are not going to be deemed a 'suitable candidate'.

Retired from NHS after nearly 40 years as a senior degree trained staff nurse. Have been working part time at Scone Palace in Perth as house keeper for the last year past Sept which I rather enjoy. I am 59, will be 60 in April. Active and fit. I enjoy new challenges since retiring from my main profession. I live in Perth with my dog, as my children are adults with their own families. Yours sincerely Avril Stewart.
