Whiting & Son

A very useful place to go if you have a project and don't know exactly what you want. The staff are all very knowledgeable and helpful. Often able to back things up with tales of using items themselves. Also they sell individually priced items so great if you want a few of a specific item. My only criticism would be based on accessibility. The historic nature of the shop makes the high street entrance narrow. The shelves are quite close together so I would not want to navigate with a pushchair or wheelchair etc. The shop is on three floors. It has entrances on the top and bottom floors accessed from the car park and high street respectively.

Wonderful proper shop which is very well stocked and full of items which you can't live without. At least that was my excuse as I browsed amongst kitchenware, tools, gardening, clocks, decorating etc. and all good quality. Friendly , helpful staff. I will certainly be back.

I’ve been going to this shop for years and they are always very helpful and kind. I went in there recently to buy an Allen key to fix a wobbly armrest on my wheelchair and the gentleman helped tighten it for me as well as the joystick which was also wobbly. I wasn’t expecting that so I’m very grateful.

Absolutely phenomenal shop! It's like a TARDIS - so much bigger in the inside. And such a range of items! Amazing.

What an amazing shop. We found it while wandering through Wells, and we're so please to discover Whiting & Son. An absolute treasure trove with everything you could imagine. We are on holiday from Dover Kent and would so love to have that shop near us! I'd never be out of it. Thanks to the friendly ladies at the counter too. It was a pleasure to meet you.
