Smarty Dry Cleaners

Handed in a Valentino hoody for replaicement of the stretch waist and cuffs band. I remember the girl saying "oh i can do that, did it once before" and that should have set off every alarm bell! However i left the hoody in good trust and paid on front as asked. Even walked back after 20 min. to ask if she really was up to the task but she reasdured me she was capable. Picked it up after a month and she had replaced the bands with a cheap non-stretch one, turning the hoody into a formless baggy shape. I complained immidiatly and told her this was not whatvi bargened for. She asked for a second chance to repair what she had done. Against my gut feeling i agreed. 3 weeks later i got the msg i could pick up the hoody unchanged, still with the cheap nun stretched bands on it. The seamstress was nowhere to be found and a differend girl (unknown to me) said she did not know about this. DO NOT BRING EXPENSIVE OR DIFFICULT STUFF AS THEY WILL RUIN IT!

Extremely disappointing – damaged wedding dress, no responsibility I brought my wedding dress to this dry cleaner on 8 May 2025. After the first clean, the dress was returned with visible stains still present and loose buttons. I made it very clear that I did not give permission for the dress to be cleaned again, as I was concerned about further damage. Despite this, they cleaned it again without my consent. After the second cleaning, the dress came back with new stains and the corset was damaged, with loose threads and a compromised fit. I was told someone would contact me about my concerns, but no one ever followed up. The dress was in their possession for over a month, and because of this delay and its condition, I lost the opportunity to sell it to a serious buyer. When I submitted a complaint, I received a dismissive and threatening email rather than a resolution. This was a special, valuable item, and the way it was handled was unacceptable. I would not recommend this business to anyone—especially if you’re trusting them with something important.

I am incredibly disappointed with the service I received at Smarty’s Dry Cleaners in Bath. I was assured by a staff member about the service they offered and strongly stipulated my request and was assured this could be carried out. I trusted the information as a customer and used their service based on this information but was totally misinformed and misled. When I collected my garment and addressed the problem to the owner, I was promised a call back the same day. I called every day hoping to get some clarity over a two week period, but no one ever returned my calls—despite being continuously told they would. This is the second time Smarty’s has messed up. Previously, they ruined a pair of my trainers. Although they did rectify that issue more efficiently and fairly than this time, it still speaks to a lack of consistent quality and care. Totally poor service, with zero accountability or communication. I will not be using Smarty’s Dry Cleaners again, and I’d strongly recommend others think twice before trusting them with their expensive items. Jessica

Super super happy with the professional specialty dry cleaning service provided from SMARTY of Bradford. My dress is nice and clean, the service was friendly, affordable and easy. My dress was picked up and delivered beautifully in a stunning box that I will treasure forever!
