Northfield Place Launderette

I went there to do laundry myself but found out till 5pm they are service washes and the 5pm to 10pm is self wash. The lovely lady there said they were doing servicewashes and I gave it to her. Everything was well done. Happy to have given for service wash

The laundrette unfortunately does not provide a possibility to exchange banknotes for coins so you need to bring your own change. Besides that, there is everything you need: powder, softener and bleach machine (50p each portion as of today), 4 washing machines and 5 tumble dryers. One wash is 5£ and drying is 50p for 10 minutes.

Coins only. No change machine. Not staffed on weekends.

In all of my cycle touring across Europe and the United States, this is the rudest laundrette I have ever encountered. Having looked online and seen that service washes were available from 8.30am, I waited outside immediately I got off the ferry this morning. At about 7.30am the laundrette appeared and first of all berated me for waiting outside, even though I said I fully expected to wait for opening at 8.30am; then said in no uncertain terms that she couldn’t guarantee a service wash today or even tomorrow and finally said self service was available at 4.30pm and suggested I wait until then (though wasn’t optimistic of my chances). Do not waste your time on this place! Thankfully, I found an excellent alternative in Silver City Laundry who answered the phone immediately and offered me a same day service for £15 for a big bag of washing.

Good laundrette. Clean and tidy. Washing powder and conditioner available from machine on the premises. Closes automatically at 10pm but if your on the premises finishing your laundry/drying you can let yourself out via a button to open the doors. Dryers were fast and efficient.
