Homebase Huntingdon

Unfortunate or typical? I ordered furniture for my garden. It arrived, delivery people didn't answer any questions (I asked if thats all of it). I opened the parts.. instructions are difficult to understand but for a diyer like me it wasn't too bad. I found missing bits. Parts of chair and fittings.. there is no number to call.. their only accessibility is through website chat. I had to login about 20 times (give it a ago) if you dont keep staring at it till closes.. very bad. They offered to replace parts.. to arrive next day . Didn't arrive, no email nothing.. then I finally got through the chat and got told it hasn't been approved a week later!! I was offered 5 % discount lol! I refused. Then aparently customer service assistant promised (and he said in chat I promise!) Again over 3 working days passed and same generic email that 3 days are needed. I have now requested for them to send me replacement. I have half made furniture here and a large box in my living room. Honestly save yourself trouble and buy elsewhere or open the box and check inventory when it arrives.. More info: store barely answers the phone and they cannot help you. The only way is through chat.. also!! They send you email because careful because reply fails.. very questionable tactics by this cheap company

In looking for a specific product I asked a staff member who led me off to a part of the store I had not visited. I was told off by another member of staff for being in a staff only area. 1. It was not clear, 2. I had been led there by a colleague. 3. Said colleague said nothing as his customer was berated. I had been in the habit of spending around £100 per month in this store. They have now lost that business,- and I have found a more local and cheaper supplier because of that staff interaction. The second star is for the fact that they encouraged me to look elsewhere.

Nice store with a lot of stock. However, the outside area where the plant's are is a disgrace. Scruffy, messy, plant's well past their best and quite frankly, anyone buying these plants would be throwing their money away. Also the car park could seriously do with a clean up. There are weeds and rubbish all around. These two areas are disgraceful. So c'mon, make an effort and get some of the staff to clean them up.

I think this is a new branch, as I think it was Homebase. It isnt very big, not like Peterborough. But its nice to have a local one and its pretty well stocked, even though the decor of the building is a bit tatty in places. It has a Homebase garden centre to one side.

Very poor management since the store opened. A huge number of products still don't have price labels, which makes shopping frustrating. The garden centre is also disappointing – most of the plants look neglected and are dying.
