Duffield Timber

Amazing pricing, wide variety of rare sorts of timber cut to most demanding shapes, lengths and forms you may ever need. I have wend for Tongue & Groove Ayous after consulting with Lewis and got stuff delivered as promised, looking way better than on images on their website. Thank you for keeping great work in this difficult economy!

Ordered box of lava logs which arrived incredibly quickly. I very much liked the product which delivered everything that was promised. Burned hot with minimum of smoke and ash. I then went onto ordering a half pallet of the same lava logs. However due to the poor service offered by Palletways the company who deal with the delivery I had to cancel this order. I felt I wanted to document how helpful, polite and professional I found the staff of Duffield Timber to be. A real breath of fresh air with customer satisfaction and experience at the top of their agenda. Thank you Duffield Timber.

What a fantastic experience visiting Duffield Timber was from start to finish. Such a warm welcome from the moment I poked my head round the door to ask if it was okay to take the dog inside, which was fine as long as she was on the lead. I think the chaps I spoke to fell in love with the dog a little bit. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and one young lad even took us through to where the turning blanks are kept. I have been searching for a suitable source of wood turning blanks since my local supplier closed and I have definitely found it here. The blanks are in squares so they will have to be rounded off on the bandsaw but not a big problem. There is a reasonable choice of species and sizes with pricing by the kilo, all clearly marked and with a set of scales for customer use to (try) and keep a check on the amount you're spending. What really amazed me the most was the amount and variety of short planks. Some species of wood I'd only seen in small pen blanks before were in large pieces of different thicknesses. There were slabs for bigger projects and burrs dotted around the walls to set the creative imagination on fire. I spent way too much but don't regret it for a second. The last two pictures show my treasure from the day.

Customer service could not be any better than what you'll find at Duffield Timber. Jack was beyond helpful, evening being willing to show me around the Hobby Hall and suggesting a number of timbers for the home project I was planning. Fantastic place

Absolutely fantastic service. I was short of a piece of cedar Shadow Gap to repair a garden hut and Jack helped me choose a suitable piece and added it to my existing order free of charge. Brilliant service. Thanks!
