Wickes Peterborough

Very disappointing experience. On 28 June 2026 I visited Wickes Peterborough and spent nearly £200 in store. As I was seeking advice on materials and discussing options with staff, I ended up staying longer than planned. Some time later I received a £60 parking charge notice because I had apparently overstayed and had not paid for parking. I find it difficult to understand why a DIY retailer located on an industrial estate charges its own customers for parking, particularly when customers may need extra time to browse products, seek advice, and make purchases. I didn't notice the parking restrictions because I didn't expect it at this location and did not realise I needed to monitor my stay so closely. Penalising genuine customers leaves a very poor impression. Unfortunately, this experience has lost Wickes a customer.

Not too sure why you’d go elsewhere. Own brand tools are cheap as chips and are of great quality. Materials are as cheap and elsewhere if not cheaper and the service form the team is second too non. They’ve always got what you need and unlike a diy store which rhymes with V&U, they don’t try and rip you off.

The trade pro app makes it well worth going to Wickes and the staff are always so helpful, especially Clive who again helped load wood into the van. Top service.

Stocking rate is off with the wood supplies. But other than that clean. Very nice staff.
