University Of Bristol Security Services Estates Office

I came here because my U-card was not working. Staff was alright, but they only seem to be able to check your current access to University building and/or print you a new U-card. They can't actually edit your access, which is disappointing, as you are usually pointed to them if you can't acess a building.

Who was that wonderful University of Bristol security man early this morning before 8.am in the Bakehouse at the corner of Aberdeen Road and Whiteladies Road? I'd scraped together enough spare change from the floor and the back of the car seat to buy what I hoped was enough to buy some bread but oh no they don't take cash! So he steps forward and says no worries you give me the cash and I'll put it on my card. But oh no I only have £2.80 and a loaf is £3.90! Honestly no worries he says I'll make up the difference on my card. It makes everything in life worthwhile when you are at the receiving end of a random act of kindness I thought as I thanked him and rushed out of the bakery with a posh and rather expensive but delicious and still warm plump loaf of overnight seeded artisan bread under my arm! Thank you so much unknown man - he had a University security car outside and his workmate was outside and also in one. And thank you University of Bristol for recruiting and employing exactly the right kind of security person to help and protect people of all ages (I'm a pensioner not a student) in the community, both inside and outside of the University's hallowed halls. I hope Karma catches up with him, his kindness is recognised by the rest of your team and management gives him a pat on the back. I'm guessing he might be based up at the University's Royal Fort Gardens nearby?
