5 most relevant · via GoogleGreat company for Sales and installation with competitive quotes. Once you have done the installation however, its a different story. they mark up 300% on things like batteries for smoke detectors. they billed us a call out charge and 1 hrs labour to change 6 batteries in 2 smoke detectors - total bill to come and change 6 batteries £371.00. They then happily chalked off the labour charge when I complained. They then proceeded to send me a quote of £931 + VAT to change batteries in 16 smoke detectors in the building as a recommendation, charging each battery at 14+VAT which is available on line for 3.88+VAT, they also added 3 hrs labour to change the batteries on the smoke detectors. Ill update you as the saga continues.
I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I have received. Over the past few months, I have phoned numerous times and have always spoken to polite and helpful staff. However, despite their efforts, my complaint clearly needed to be dealt with by someone in a more senior position. I was given the name of a supervisor who contacted me by email, and we agreed on times for a phone call to discuss the issue. Unfortunately, that call never came. Since then, I have repeatedly chased for an update, only to be told that the supervisor was either away from his desk or busy on another call. On every occasion, I left my name and contact number, yet no one ever called me back even though it was promised he would. I am now fed up with having to continually chase for answers. To make matters worse, I have been informed that, due to the ongoing dispute regarding payment, our household insurance may be invalid - similar to when a previous issue was not properly resolved. To say I am less than impressed would be an understatement. I was a loyal customer of the original company before it was bought out, but Spy and based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone. I never wanted to leave a public review, but after being repeatedly ignored and left without a resolution, I feel I have no other choice.
The worst security company and customer service I have ever dealt with. Since Spy Alarms took over Red Alert, everything seems to have gone downhill. Emails go unanswered, maintenance issues are not dealt with proactively, and we constantly have to chase for updates and support. We have experienced ongoing problems with fobs not working despite batteries being replaced, alarms triggering at random times for no apparent reason, and a general lack of urgency when issues are reported. What is most disappointing is the complete lack of customer care and communication. When you are paying for a security service, reliability and responsiveness should be the minimum expectation. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone. We are still customers for the time being, but will be looking to move elsewhere as soon as possible. Utterly disappointing.
Shocking experience from start to finish. Hidden charges, contradicting information, and when I tried to cancel I was told the complete opposite of what then happened. Raised a formal complaint and was essentially fobbed off. I'm not the only one - look at the reviews and you'll see a pattern. If you're considering signing up, read the small print very carefully before you do. I wish I had.
Service levels have recently gone downhill. Alarm faults have not been resolved. Delays in engineer availability and visit cancellation, last time due to “training course”. The engineers are polite and helpful, some seem to be employed, others are contractors I would not recommend.
