S J M Carpentry and Building Services

Steve was fabulous! He was honest, friendly, reliable, thorough and genuinely nice. Was gutted to see him leave really, and no longer having him to chat ‘at’. Totally trust Steve, his quality of work and opinions, he totally got my vision for my space and ran with it, with helpful ideas and honest feedback. My salon is now finished and I couldn’t be happier, or busier 😅. Thanks Steve, and see you on my next adventure!

Steven was superb from start to finish. Very efficient, professional and friendly. Listened to how we wanted the decking to be and gave advice as well. Work extremely hard in all weathers that our beautiful country likes to give when working outdoors. The decking looks absolutely fantastic and will 100% use again in the future

Steve has done a couple of jobs for us and we are very pleased with the results. Initially we asked him to advise on putting new fencing around our rear garden, we were so impressed with what he suggested that we got him to do it for us. The result was perfect, we now have fencing that looks good and will last. While he was sorting our fencing out, we asked his advice on building decking across a fairly sizeable area of our garden. He came up with some great advice and ideas, so we immediately asked him if he could do this for us. The result is fantastic, he has transformed our garden, the decking area he designed and built, along with the balustrade he also planned and fitted, is sturdy, looks good and certainly stands out. Steve's work is excellent, his attention to detail is first class, he is reliable and nothing is too much trouble for him. We are so pleased with what he has done for us that we have asked him to come back and lay our patio. If you want someone who is reliable, friendly and does a great job, Steve is the man for the job.

We have had several jobs done with Steve now. Our most recent being a new roof and cladding to our gable ends. Previously he has built fitted wardrobes, our new log burner fire surrounds and fitted flooring. His reliability and outstanding craftsmanship has been faultless. He is always polite, and discusses best options for us as a customer. We have always felt he is completely trustworthy, and would not hesitate recommending him to anyone. It's so important to know when we are financing work, we know an excellent job will be done. Thank you Steve, see you for our biggest job next year.

We recently hired Steve from SJM Carpentry and Building Services, and I can't recommend him highly enough! From start to finish, Steve was professional, efficient, and meticulous in his work. He did an excellent job with our project but also resolved issues left behind by another local builder and identified further areas that he then addressed. Steve's attention to detail and commitment to quality really sets him apart. It's rare to find someone who takes such pride in their work, and we feel very fortunate to have found him. If you're looking for a trustworthy and skilled builder, Steve is your guy!
