Penguin Dry Cleaners

I dropped off a corset to be cleaned. I was told to come back the following week, with a warning that there may be a possibility the boning could be damaged. I was willing to take that risk. When I picked it up, everything appeared great, they even provided a hanger for free. But the corset has shrunk.. Not great

The first time I used Penguin, no complaints. The second time I used it, I took black tie jacket + trousers, a waistcoat and a tie. The tie and waistcoat had stains that I wanted removed, and this is far from what I got (pictures attached). The most obvious gross blotches were removed from the black tie, but the velvet came out looking distressed and greyer, covered in white flecks. The jacket also had a mark front and centre that I'm sure I will be able to sponge out, but it's so obviously positioned as to speak to a lack of care. Quite disappointed - will look for alternatives in future.

Great service to start off with but very pricey - especially as the last clean came back with both new and old stains in the garments. Also the pressing / ironing quality leaves lots to be desired in cases where I have a more complex cut shirt. I’ve had it once more last year where I had new stains on a white shirt I took in there. The latest batch - I asked at the store whether the stain had been treated and they confirmed it had. Cue very disappointed me as I loved this garment. Went home and tried Vanish Oxy Action - got the stain out and this means they hadn’t even tried treating it. Anyway. For the cost and inconsistent quality I’ll sadly have to take my clothes to London dry cleaners going forward :/

This is not a dry cleaner, this is a butcher! They tore two completely new shirts. We are now to take legal action and proper compensation under law. We will also report to Trading Standards.

I am very sad to leave this review. I took a ball gown with a back covered in sewed beads and when I went to pick it up the beads had lost their colour and most of them were gone. The company that made the dress certifies that it can be dry cleaned and that the beads were good quality and properly sewed. The dry cleaners will accept no responsibility for the damage to the dress and charged for its cleaning. A great example of very poor customer service and I am left with an unusable dress. I really do not recommend using this service
