Finishing Touch

I have been going to Finishing Touches since 2022 and will not be returning. I arrived on Tuesday around midday to pick up my dry cleaning. I handed over my receipt (they now require payment upfront), and one of the ladies immediately started shouting at me: "What clothes do you have?" I didn't write the receipt - her colleague did - so I started listing the items: a jacket, mac, and shirt. She then checked with the colleague who wrote it and started shouting again they didn't have my order ready. I explained I had dropped the clothes off on Thursday and was told to collect them on Tuesday - not a specific time, just Tuesday. The other lady replied, "It's not the end of Tuesday yet." I said they had lost my business because I did not appreciate how the first lady spoke to me or how they were handling the situation. Her response? "That's just her personality." The lady who had been shouting then said, "I'm Eastern European," as if that explained it. I felt ganged up on. She then said if I waited, she'd quickly press the items, which took about 30 seconds. She mumbled "sorry for the wait" but didn't press the mac correctly. I just wanted to leave. Interesting to see such different treatment described in other reviews. Makes me wonder who gets patience and who gets shouted at.

The best dry cleaner by far! Totally flexible and open. I had a pick-up scheduled for Tuesday and asked if I could receive my items by Saturday afternoon and she made it possible! Absolutely 💯!!!

This place was recommended by my tailor and a dressmaker friend. Been coming for a few years. Great service. Please note closed Wed.

The quality of service is high but what really stood out was the friendliness of the staff.

Terrible service – ruined garment and no accountability I took a pleated skirt to this dry cleaners and it was returned completely ruined, with all the pleats removed. When I complained, staff admitted 'this is a known risk' but 'it is not standard practice to individually caution customers' so went and did it anyway. Despite having spent around £125 at this shop previously, they refused to offer any meaningful compensation. I asked for £60 (half the value of the skirt) toward replacement, which they declined. They briefly offered a refund of the dry-cleaning cost (£10) but never followed through. Instead, they stopped responding altogether and blocked my phone calls and emails. ** He has even responded to this saying he offered a refund however never responded to emails to follow through this offer - do not trust No responsibility, no customer care, and no honesty. Do not take delicate or valuable items to this shop. If something goes wrong, you should not expect a warning, compensation, or even basic communication.
