Connors Building Maintenance Ltd

Do not use this company! Connor comes across as a really nice, genuine guy but promises the earth then doesn't deliver. The team are great and quality of pointing done was good but then they don't turn up and the multitude of excuses from Connor begins. We stupidly paid over £21K and thankfully withheld the final payment which was insufficient as they only completed approx 70% of the work. We were left with the front and back of the house with no pointing as we approached winter - the job was supposed to be finished by end August. We eventually terminated the contract mid November after many emails and text messages constantly promising to finish the job. It was a nightmare. He promised us £500 compensation which was never forthcoming. Wish we had never taken them on. We were rescued by a fantastic company GC Stonemasons, Stirling - use them instead!

Update July 2024 - 8 months later with more lies from Connor - several dates came and went when he assured us he would finish the work - we are finally proceeding to court action. It's been a frustrating time, organizing all the txts, emails, copies of letters sent and received etc but with the advice from a lawyer, chartered accountant and clerk to works we are finally ready. Hopefully our action will spare another family the trauma and expense that we incurred. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- November 2023: It's now 1 year since Connor started lime pointing on our house and it remains unfinished. We paid over £9000 up front - Connor no longer responds to txts, emails or recorded delivery letters. We have emails from Connor saying he admits he was paid in full and he did not finish the work. We asked for it to be completed under his "GUARANTEE PROMISE". That's when he stopped responding. We are now working with Citizens Advice who are helping to escalate to Trading Standards and the Trade Association. We are very disappointed as one section of the house was well done, the other remains to be finished. We feel we have been scammed. Sad thing is we thought he was a really nice guy and actually trusted him. A word of warning: Do not pay upfront Do not believe the work is guaranteed. Do not have anything to do with this company.

Connor as others have said, comes across like a good guy, but we also had excuse after excuse as to why he couldnt come and finish the work we agreed. I’m glad I only asked him to mastek a few windows as after two years the so called mastek is literally crumbling away from the windows, it has not firmed up like they should have now we have to get someone out who is a professional to sort out the windows. The lies he told about his workforce being involved in accident so he couldn’t come and finish the work was the final straw, especially when he had posted on Facebook the same day, that they were working on a big job in Edinburgh on that day. When I said I wanted my deposit back for the additional work due to the delays, he kept it, saying he had already bought the paint, which is hard to believe if he can lie so easily about other things.

Stay away at all costs. Connor promised a schedule of works and took a deposit from us and money for materials. He showed up on site for one week and never returned again and never answered a single phone call. He also made the matter worse and never followed the architects instructions. We have now had to take this to court and filed a police report as he still owes us alot of money and we have paid for materials that we never purchased. Please avoid at all costs, he is not to be trusted.
