Asterisk Maintenance

I arranged for an engineer to diagnose and fix my combo gas boiler for Friday 12 Dec 2025. I was informed by the manager John that someone will arrive between 10.00-14.00hrs. No one arrived and it was already just past 15.00hrs. As I picked up the phone to find out what the delay was an engineer turned up. As I was explaining to him I was expecting someone between 10-2pm. He just jumped his van and sped off. On another occasion in February this year the same guy turned up and when I asked for his gas safe ID card he said he had forgotten it. When I checked his name on line it had expired months before. I wouldn’t recommend using this company to anyone.

Recently had a shower fitted, I got like for like but the plumber said it won’t get any hotter than that because of the cables on the inside. It was luke warm and unbearable. I rang asterisk and asked them for advice as it was a like for like shower and it wasn’t going to be nice in the winter. The man said I’d got the wrong wattage. I looked into this and I’d got the highest wattage available, nothing was making sense. I called out another plumber who took the front cover off. The cog/dial on the inside hasn’t been turned to the beginning so would only turn 180degrees as a pose of before of 360degrees. This fixed the shower and is now boiling like it used to be. Terrible service from asterisk especially when I call to tell them about it and they put the blame on me. They should have sent the plumber back out to have a look. Do not use these idiots, they don’t even know what they are doing. They have cost me more money when they should know how to fit an electric shower.

First experience of this company. Boiler service was sub contracted to asterisk by Your repair. Promised arrive between 8-12pm. 12.30, not arrived. Informed arrive before 2pm. 2.20pm still nothing. Phoned again there on 25 mins. 3pm not arrived. 3.30 arrived. When asked the engineer why so late, wasn’t never going to be here before 12 and wasn’t informed of 8-12 slot. Only experience of this company, wouldn’t use again

Had a bath replaced. The work is needing to be redone a year later because sealant and panels have fallen away. This began shortly after installation but despite several calls to the company they would not come out to repair. The work was well below standard and once paid the company were not interested in addressing issues.

Had a leak from the bathroom radiator pipe. The plumber who came was kind and courteous! He cleared up after he made a hole in my ceiling to fix the leak, despite me offering to do it. I’d definitely use this company again! Price was very reasonable too!
