Able Group

Ant control was an utter con - don’t use this lot. Paid £140 plus VAT for the expert to come round and install some bait traps I can - And have - bought on Amazon. Funny old thing, they didn’t work for him either. It’s obviously a well trodden route to market as the ants have got worse and - not sure if this is lucky or not - he left his personal number so we can call him for future business rather than pay a premium via Able. Sounds like the business model is to install something that fails to ensure future business. Like I said - avoid like the ant plague that I have!

Inital person to book appointment was helpful, I don't know if that was them knowing they had just taken card details ahead of booking. Two hours later had a call from a (very rude) different person saying my appointment wasnt going to be 8-12 but actually 4-8 later that day. They already knew I do not live in the area and had made arrangments to meet the engineer. She then went on to argue about various other things. Cancelled the booking to avoid being messed around further. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I thought i would get a local company in Runcorn to attend site to inspect a broken glass unit but, even though i called a local number they are a service centre and got someone to attend site. He did put safety film on the broken glass but, also told our customer his price for the work. I was then expecting a final quotation to replace the glass but, then found out that Able Group wouldnt do anything until we had paid for this work. The demand for payment was in less than 12 hours from attending site. I have been called, messaged and emailed constantly for payment. We in the end travelled a four hour round trip to get the required details we needed. I will not be using Able Group ever again, it has been a absolute headache.

I asked Able group for a plumber at 11am. They sent one at 5.45pm and he was unable to fix a leaking flexi pipe in the bathroom. I also wanted to call the plumber and tell him where the key was, they said they cannot give out the plumbers number. Having a middle man or women 😀 to deal with rather than directly with the person doing to job is not helpful. Not sure why this company exists. It's a recruitment agency for trade workers and then I imagine they take a cut. Plumber was £175 plus £90 for each additional item needed. This is a highly confusing price structure and my trust levels for them are on the floor. Best to avoid and actually find a trades person yourself.

After getting different quotes to replace a cracked toilet I chose Able who gave me the best price plus 10% discount for AOP’s. The customer operator was very polite and help full. I called Able at 8.30 am the job was booked in and completed to a very good standard by 3.30 pm the same day. The plumber was very friendly and polite. Excellent service!
