A & M Sandstone Restoration & Stone Repairs

I've just had A & M Sandstone repoint the front and side of my sandstone house in Falkirk. We have had damp inside the house that remained an issue after having the roof fully re-slated. Adam came round and straight away identified areas at the front of the house where the pointing had came away and could tell water was getting in. There was lots of cement pointing at the front which added to the problem. The gable was fully cement pointing. I bit the bullet and got both the front and gable done with proper lime mortar. The standard of finish is fantastic, the house looks so much better after the repaired sandstone and nice finish to the pointing. More importantly, it has fixed our damp issue which we've been battling for years. Highly recommend this company. Adam and William were a pleasure to deal with and the guys on site were great and really friendly. Would definitely use again.

I had renovation work carried out to the front and gable end of the property and also the roof was related with new slates. The outside of the property looks really nice now and I am pleased with the results. Everyone who carried out the work were friendly and helpful. Thankyou to all concerned.

William and his team did a great job repointing damaged mortar on several sections of our house. They also repaired damaged stone work and did a great job of colour matching to the existing stone. They were quick to quote and good at keeping us updated with progress.

Nothing but appalling treatment from A&M Sandstone and Adam, if I could give 0 stars I would. We have given A&M Sandstone over a year and a half to do the right thing. Originally contracted (in February 2024) to do stonework pointing on our property when they also advised that our roof was in poor condition and would require replacement. Thinking they were trustworthy (in part due to the Google Reviews) and with a baby due imminently decided to proceed with them to undertake the works, thinking we were doing the best thing for the house and family. All seemed to be progressing well until the works were “completed” and final payment made. Two weeks later I discovered water ingress in and around all the dormer windows on the house. I contacted Adam to get the issues resolved and then started the long arduous process of getting the defects caused by Adam/A&M fixed competently. They returned to the property several times, once to apply some flashband to the sides of the dormers as a “repair”, the leaks continued. I eventually got Adam to agree to a remedial repair to be undertaken in May of last year, however, the leaks continued as the work was not done correctly. From this point Adam became harder to get a hold of eventually ghosting us in August of last year, leaving a young family with a leaking roof. Eventually, after over a year of leaks, we had to get a 3rd party out to properly fix the works, leaving us even further out of pocket. Avoid at all costs they will not do a good job, and it’ll cost you. I’ve extensively documented everything, and the video uploaded shows the state we were left in after our new roof was “completed” by A&M Sandstone last year.

AM Sandstone was recommended to me by a colleague, and I’m really glad I went with them. Their qualified stonemasons did a great job restoring the frontage of my sandstone property. It looks so much better now and has really lifted the whole appearance. Highly recommend.
