Wickes Gloucester

Poor experience at Wickes. The store was quiet with only one or two customers, yet several staff were standing around near the till chatting instead of helping confused looking customers. In a DIY store, customer support matters, especially when people may need advice or help finding items. It was disappointing to see staff available but not interested in assisting. It is like they were there but not there.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with Wickes kitchen installation in Gloucester was extremely disappointing. What was meant to be a two-week installation took over a month before we had a usable kitchen, and around eight months later remedial works were still being carried out. The issues included: * An incorrect kitchen design, resulting in units being ordered incorrectly and having to be reordered. * Kitchen units being installed in the wrong position and not level, requiring further work and reinstallation. * Drilling through a water pipe, causing water damage within the property. * Bathroom flooring being installed incorrectly and having to be replaced months later by another Wickes installer. * Incorrect flooring trim/edging being fitted and subsequently redone. * Installers leaving the job part-way through . * Multiple defects requiring repeated return visits and remedial works. Communication was poor throughout, with constant chasing required for updates and resolutions. To add to the frustration, despite being told that a finance agreement had been cancelled and payment would be made directly, instalment payments were later activated. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Wickes kitchen installation services.

We have just ordered a kitchen with Atul and he was amazing! We would highly recommend seeing him if you need to buyva kitchen. We were also served by Wayne behind the checkout, he was also amazing, as it was so busy and he was running the show! Thank you both! 😊

From putting our order in for next day delivery we now have to wait a week!! Told that our order will be late on the day of delivery to now putting it back a week. Not ideal as wanted it for a garden project that we were planning on a week ago. Wickes & ‘City Spirit’ failed on this occasion. Will now expect our ‘next day delivery’ to be reimbursed

Rocked up to Wickes Gloucester for a simple return/exchange on a item, I didn't have the original receipt, showed manager Tessa my bank statement—crystal-clear proof of purchase. Her face? Pure "I'd rather be getting a root canal than dealing with you." "No receipt? No refund. No exchange. No store credit. No nothing." Delivered with maximum smugness, like she was personally offended by my bank app existing in 2026. Attitude level: 11/10 "I'd rather be anywhere else"—arms crossed, eyes rolling harder than a bad rom-com montage. She didn't even pretend to care. Just pure, unfiltered "not my problem" energy while treating me like I invented fraud for fun. Thanks for the epic display of customer service enthusiasm, Tessa. You've made "helpful" a four-letter word. May your next shift be blessed with endless queues of people armed with ancient receipts and zero attitude. I'll be back... once I've tattooed my receipt onto my forehead for your approval.
