Poppies Cleaning Service

Our firm have been using Poppies Cleaning Services in Durham for many years and they have always provided a first class service to us. All their regular cleaners are extremely professional and very thorough in their job. Nicola and Holly in the office are easy to contact and communciate with and they inform us immediately if there are any last minute changes that have to be made. Thank you for everything 😊

The cleaners themselves were very nice and friendly and the manger was very professional, but the service was hot and miss. I think what lets them down is lack of pride in their work, and they see it as just a job. I can understand that, but then the rates are on the high side and we pay for a high standard. For example some bits in the bathroom were done very well and then they’d leave the top of the bin, radiators and taps without a clean. We had a picture in there that had a thick layer of dust. Sorry, had to look elsewhere.

I have been a client of Poppies for about three years and during that time I have found the service provided has always been excellent. Cleaning has been thorough and all my requests have been met readily. Contact with the office staff when changes to timing or personnel have been required have always been made in good time. I have no hesitation in recommending the Durham branch of Poppies to any prospective customer.

Dishonest and unreliable. Explained exactly what was required upon acessment. First call done my elderly dad explained to the employee a deep clean was never discussed or booked. She basically ignored what he was saying and did a deep clean anyway without contacting her office to find out what was happening. When I spoke with the office the following day, they dismissed the concern if not listening to the elderly client footing their bill AND denied what they had said at the initial assessment. It was arranged for them to come out and fix their error and do what had been discussed at a time that suited . Didn't turn up, didn't return phone calls, just turned up when suited to them. When they where next due to return phone call stating they didn't have anyone to cover the call. Completely unreliable and dishonest. Contract immediately cancelled as they had all the chances they deserved and moved to another company. Been using the new company without a hitch since the start of the year. Of course the owner has now replied with a standard response about emailing, however I spoke with her directly on the phone.

A very good experience so far. I've just moved to Durham and needed some help with household cleaning, especially because I haven't been well. A friend recommended Poppies, and Nicola and her team have done a great job of keeping the place clean and tidy. Everyone has been friendly and helpful, and they've been very flexible about fitting in with how much I've been able to do myself. Thoroughly recommended.
