Homebase Cambridge

This Homebase store was well laid out and very clean. I came in to buy a new toilet seat, but these stores give you so much inspiration for your home and garden, I left with a few more bits and pieces for the home and the garden. Prices are very competitive.

We bought a toilet seat and unfortunately it didn't fit. We realised it wasn't going to fit before we took it out the plastic packaging inside the box. That was fortunate because the lady behind the counter said if the plastic packaging was open they wouldn't be able to give us a refund. Not good when it was £30!

Only Homebase in Cambridge will be closing down soon.

Mostly fine. I'm used to hardware stores being able to cut long boards into shorter pieces, to help people who don't have tools at home or are travelling via bike, bus, or cab. This store doesn't do that. Oh, also, the quality of the lumber was literally the worst I've ever seen. Not a single piece that wasn't warped beyond usability. They sort of gaslit me saying that it would lay flat once screwed down, which I would later discover to be false. But mostly fine for everything else. ... Prices seemed a bit high though?

Extremely dire customer service !- Defective Trolley (loaded with a lot of expensive products!) stalled and overturned on the slope at the shop Exit - Manager and Assistant Manager twice refused to replace a cracked, spilled Paint can, a simple Swap ! "You've left the store, it's not our problem"... Is unacceptable- it's your products,trolley and shopfront. Refused to acknowledge the obviously defective Trolley as the cause- and it's likely back in use now... Not safe,and not sensible Homebase!- Please review the state of said equipment, and the dismissive attitude.
