Haus Maids Cheltenham

Linnet conducted a WhatsApp video call of our home to determine the cost of future cleans. She requested payment in advance for the initial clean. We expected she had made a fair and accurate assessment of the time needed to complete the work based upon the size and condition of the home, and the tasks they perform. The initial clean was done surprisingly quickly. They did a total of 2 hours 40 minutes work for an invoiced £186. Yes, that’s £70 an hour. When questioned with Linnet, she indicated it was a reflection of how efficient they are rather than a problem with her cost assessment. She also explained they have a ton of overhead costs and the VAT does not go to her. The cleaners returned two weeks later for the regular clean. This time they only cleaned for 1 hour and 10 minutes (two cleaners for 35 minutes). This is a four bedroom house with two bathrooms and a laundry room. We were charged £114 for that work. That is a whopping £97 an hour. When questioned with Linnet whether she still stood by her original quotes, she continued to argue the VAT does not go to her and they have tons of overhead costs. However, she is competing in market where the vast majority of service providers are not VAT registered and I actually don’t care how the money I pay is disseminated. She did offer to reduce the fee to £96 but that’s still over £80 an hour. She did not offer to reduce the charge for the work already done. I’ll let the reader decide whether: £97 an hour is a reasonable rate for cleaning services. A four bedroom house can be cleaned to the highest standards in just over an hour. Update: After complaing about the above She did offer to reduce the fee to £96 but that’s still over £80 an hour. She did not offer to reduce the charge for the work already done. H0owever after contacting Head Office, she voided the invoice. We have cancelled the contract.

The Hausmaids team are the most reliable team ever..! Come rain or shine every fortnight, 8 am on the dot.. always smiley. Maybe our little border terrier starts the smiles!, but they are really great. They are very conscientious, always leave our home looking lovely and clean. It’s so nice to come back to clean sheets too. I love the team’s little touches too, like lining up my tiny ornaments or tucking in the toilet roll paper attractively. Thank you for many years of cleanliness now!

Tried Haus Maids for the first time recently based on reviews read on the internet and TrustPilot ranking, and I am so glad I did. The cleaning crew sent out to us - at really short notice - were on time, professional, efficient and thorough. They performed really well under what can only be described as trying circumstances, with the weather being so very hot, but they comported themselves admirably, with good grace and gave us a really good professional clean. Thank you Haus Maids!

TLDR: lovely workers, very light cleaning, terribly overpriced with majority going to business/management. Detail: Had them clean for a few months. The workers who came were quiet and polite. Things they cleaned were cleaned well. However, £84 for an hour's clean when the workers earnings are around £13 per hour means that when two workers came for one hour 70% of my payment was going into the company. Mandatory deep clean (£160 ish, double price) at the start was not deep in any way, surfaces were still covered in dust and many things (even coasters) were not moved to clean under. Subsequent clean the week after was more thorough. Asking for improvement from management didn't do anything. Would definitely recommend avoiding and pay a local/independent cleaner who will benefit more from the direct payment, than go through a franchise (directors on £40-70k annually). Things were cleaned, just not thorough and cost me way too much!

Haus Maids cleaned my property in Cheltenham to an absolutely fantastic standard, leaving every room spotless and beautifully presented. Their attention to detail was clear throughout, from immaculate surfaces to perfectly finished touches. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of their work and would highly recommend them.
