Mixed experience overall. The response times and maintenance have always been very good, and the engineers are consistently helpful and knowledgeable. However, the customer service side is less impressive. One thing to be aware of is that if you want to switch to another maintenance company, ESS won’t release your system from their registration. That means you lose app access unless you install a new control panel (around £200), which feels unnecessary. Good day-to-day service, but worth understanding the limitations before committing.

Ive been with this company two years and ive never felt more frustrated with a company before. They say different things in person and on the phone. I wait for weeks and months when they say theyll call me only to be told oh you should have called us.... even though i did. Technician are great but communication within the company is non existent.

Essex have ALWAYS responded efficiently and quickly to every alarm situation and I have used them for 20+ years. Yesterday, their engineer Aaron visited and he could not have been more plesant and helpful. Essex Security - Problem Solved! Thanks for all the years.

Used this company from a local business recommendation on our business park. Recently installed a door entry system for us, from the initial phone call through to the install, all the members of staff were helpful and polite. Reasonably priced and quality product. The surveyor was on time and polite and helpful, everything was explained and different quotes were provided to suite us which was helpful The fitter was quick, efficient and tidy. Highly recommend.

I had an alarm fitted by this company five years ago. The battery was showing as not charged meaning I was unable to set my alarm. I contacted ESS two days running to explain the problem and request for an engineer call out. Despite the fact that on both occasions I was promised that the Service Department would contact me to arrange a visit, on the second day I asked if the phone call would be that day and was assured that it would be. Well they didn't bother to call so I used another company Guard Systems who were most helpful, not alone did they return my call on the same day but an engineer visited on that day and resolved the problem. I would never use ESS again absolute rubbish customer service.
