5 most relevant · via GoogleOne star is too generous for this company. The inspector arrived at our property under the pretence of carrying out a dye test to establish whether the leak was coming from the shared roof of the property (Terris House). However, he arrived without the proper equipment and was unable to perform the test. He then persuaded his way past my seven-month-pregnant sister to gain access to the property while she was alone and working from home, supposedly to carry out a further inspection of the shower tray. This shower tray had already been cleared several times by multiple other inspectors during the five-month battle to get this matter resolved. While my sister continued working in another room, the inspector spent approximately two hours carrying out his inspection. After multiple loud bangs, prolonged periods of running water through the shower, and extensive time in the bathroom, he somehow "discovered" a leak at the foot of the shower tray, along with a new hole in the floorboards. He appeared very pleased to inform us that he had found the source of the leak and would be reporting back to the insurance company that the issue was solely related to the shower tray. Once the inspector left, a brand-new stain appeared on our kitchen ceiling. We know this stain is new because we have multiple photographs of the area from the original inspection reports, which clearly show that the damage was not present before and that the issue was not related to the shower. I have never known an inspector to require hammers and tools to inspect areas that already have open access. Access has been readily available for the last five months, and every other inspector we have accommodated has been able to carry out their inspections without causing damage. To keep an already frustratingly long story short, we are now seeking legal advice regarding damage that we believe may have been caused during this inspection and will be exploring all available options to hold the company accountable for any losses or repairs arising from their actions. DO NOT let this company into your home. Based on our experience, they appeared more interested in finding a convenient explanation for the claim than conducting a fair and thorough investigation. We are left with additional damage, more questions than answers, and a complete lack of confidence in the quality and integrity of their inspection process. I have added two photos, one showing the shower area before this 'inspectors' visit and the 2nd after his activities. it looks like we have broke a hole In the wood after getting them wet.
DCP were appointed by our insurer after our house fire last year. Firstly let's get the positives out of the way - the team of people that took away our items were very friendly, efficient and good at what they do. I don't envy their task and they did it with a smile. This is where the positive experience stopped... utter chaos ensued thereafter. They lost a lot of our items, sent us items back that were categorised BER alongside 'cleaned items' (literally in the same box), sent us items that didn't belong to us, showed PAT testing certificates for broken items... Cleaned items stunk of smoke... simply not cleaned at all. Taking a wipe to 90% of the returned items clearly showed black soot. They were given countless opportunities to make good the issues and failed at every single hurdle. Insurance companies pay £1,000's to joke companies like this, who in turn make the whole process much more stressful than it ever should be! AVOID! DON'T LET YOUR INSURANCE CONPANY FORCE YOU INTO USING THESE CLOWNS
We entrusted this company with our equipment for an insurance claim, expecting it to be assessed and handled professionally. Instead, the equipment was returned damaged, not properly cleaned, and still contained plaster residue, which was obvious on inspection. Despite this, we were told the equipment was safe to use. However, a subsequent inspection by another professional found failed internal components and confirmed it was unsafe. As a result, the equipment has now been BER’ed. This situation shows a serious lack of care, inadequate inspection, and concerning advice regarding safety. The handling of our equipment and the misinformation provided caused unnecessary stress and could have resulted in significant risk, plus added significant timescales to our claim as they had the equipment for over 4 weeks. We are extremely disappointed and would not recommend this company based on our experience. (Company hired by Aviva)
Kevin !!!!! Absolute Legend Unfortunately we had a flood and it was a nightmare, Kevin from Disaster was only one of the many few companies that came out and made it very easy for us to deal with , he took all the stress from us and did his very best to go out of his own way and speak to the right teams of his own back to make it easy for us , we can’t thank Kevin enough as if it wasn’t for him we would still be in a long awaiting queue and stuck . He called us every few days to see if everything was ok and pushed other companies to give us updates . Disaster Care Platinum are by far the most reliable trustworthy and definitely Caring company towards their customers and always go that extra mile .
