CJB Roofing

I highly recommend Chris and the team at CJB Roofing. Chris was professional, honest and took real ownership of the job from start to finish. His communication was excellent throughout, and he always kept me informed about the next steps. The work involved removing a defective chimney stack and re-tiling the roof. Chris and his team carried out the work to a very high standard, and I was particularly impressed that they worked through extremely hot weather to get the job completed properly. They were polite, hardworking and took great pride in their work. When the job was finished, they left the property clean and tidy, with all the debris and waste removed, which was very much appreciated. It's rare these days to find a tradesman who genuinely stands behind his work and is committed to doing the job right rather than taking the easy option. Chris's knowledge and experience really show, and his commitment to customer satisfaction is second to none. If you're looking for an honest, reliable and professional roofing company that takes pride in its workmanship, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend CJB Roofing. Thank you, Chris and the team, for a fantastic job. I really appreciate your professionalism, honesty and commitment throughout.

I just want to celebrate the tenacity of the CJB roof workers who spent 2 days (early morning til early afternoon) working on my roof in the blistering heat of a heat wave doing a refurb on the lowest felting part of my roof. They are a local company, their boss Christopher Butcher has been in the business 45 years and has teams working for him far and wide. They didn't try to fleece me for an unnecessary amount of work (as a previous company had tried by recommending a whole new roof). The house I live in was built in 1970s; Chris came out to check what needed doing and diagnosed that the roof is sound it was just the felting that was deteriorating possibly due to birds or vermin; he gave me a quote that wasn't even a quarter of what the other company had quoted. They came to do the job pretty well as soon as I'd paid a deposit on the job; firstly the scaffolders (Chris books the scaffolders for each job) set up for the roofers access to the roof. Once the scaffolding was up - they took up the three bottom rungs of roof tiles, replaced the underlay/ felting and put the tiles back replacing any that were broken - only 3 I think - which is great - I always think if it ain't broke don't fix it. Then they cleaned the gutters and fascias with industry grade cleaning product so it all looks shiny and as good as new. All done in lightening fast time. They came back to clear the roof of moss and swept away any debris from window sills and the ground below. They were all delightfully polite, cheerful and helpful. I can't praise them enough. They also very kindly took my now defunct analog aerial down and replaced some of the front facade tiles that had come loose. Absolute darlings each and every one of them. And Chris is rightfully very proud of his team. And on top of that I got a lovely bunch of flowers as a thank you for my custom - how sweet is that! I can't recommend them enough - it is so nice to know of a reputable local company who can do the job so professionally - they don't advertise (they don't need to they are so good). I have to advocate being wary of some of the companies advertising on social media - be sure to check their credentials - if in doubt go local - and definitely try these guys they are A-MAY- ZING with extra Z on the Zing for sure - professional and fairly priced - they will only quote for what needs doing (unless of course you want a bright shiny new roof).

We have used Chris and CJB roofing for over a decade. He is always so professional and super quick to reply to messages even on a Saturday morning at 7:30 am when we had a leak! Today Chris’s team fitted a new Velux window. They arrived early and worked professionally and efficiently to leave a new window looking great. They even replaced a few tiles . I appreciate the security of using CJB roofing in the knowledge I am getting a professional job and not looking to add to the costs unnecessarily. A company you can trust with a really personable boss -Chris. 🙏

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding service from CJB Roofing I honestly couldn’t recommend Chris and Sharon at CJB Roofing highly enough. A proper family firm with over 40 years of experience, and it really shows in the quality of their work. The roof on our cottage was in a terrible state – the original slates were around 120 years old and completely finished. Before speaking to Chris I had one of those typical “cowboy” quotes, where the suggestion was to rip out perfectly good original oak roof timbers and replace the roof with a unnecessary modern system, which would have been completely unnecessary and totally wrong for a traditional terraced cottage. Chris took a completely different approach. He properly assessed the roof and explained exactly what actually needed doing. He was able to source reclaimed slates that perfectly matched the originals, keeping the character of the property while repairing the roof the right way. What impressed me most was: • Incredible workmanship • Attention to detail • Honest advice instead of upselling unnecessary work • Great communication throughout The team stripped the roof, cleared decades of dust and debris, treated the timber, re-felted, battened and re-slated, and the result looks fantastic. Even more impressive – the entire job was completed within just four days. The site was left spotless and Chris even went the extra mile clearing additional rubbish from the garage. It’s rare these days to find tradespeople who genuinely take pride in their work, but Chris and his team absolutely do. If you need roofing work done, CJB Roofing should be your first call. Many thanks again to Chris, Sharon and the whole team. — Shaun

I needed to get some old, crumbly vent tiles replaced on my roof and a good friend recommended Chris from CJB Roofing. He was quick to respond when I contacted him and came round to inspect and assess the job within a couple of days. He provided me with a quote that was very reasonable and the work was carried out promptly and with the minimum of hassle, which is just how I like it! Chris is brilliant- he is knowledgeable, courteous and professional and at the top of my list for any further roof related issues and I would recommend him highly.
