5 most relevant · via GoogleMy car went into "limp" mode all lights flashing etc on the M32 exit road. I was on my own & very alarmed. When I got off the exit & pulled over I contacted Bristol DPF as previously I had excellent service from them. True to form they were fantastic. They advised me to get AA to get my car to them- a great reassurance in a stressful situation. Ben , Gary and the team could not have been more professional and helpful. They kept me informed on the parts needed, when the car would be ready and the overall cost. I could not have asked for more. I have no hesitation in giving a 5 star rating and my thanks to the team at Bristol DPF.
It’s rare these days to find professional people who give you better service than you were expecting. The process was expensive, but I know they didn’t take short cuts or cheated in any way. I feel very confident in my car that the work they have done is top drawer. The car feels better, moves much faster, and seems happier. 😁 If you get cheaper somewhere else, be careful. If you want something done right, and to last, get it done by the real experts.
Bristol DPF Centre are great! I had issues with my Jaguar e-pace and they did a thorough check of the car and ordered all the parts quickly and got it back on the road. They even called me back in the week after to run a software update to make sure everything was sorted and car was full fixed. Thank you for the great service :-)
With a significant loss of power and every engine management warning light flashing, our VW Transporter was in big trouble! All my local garages said "sorry can't touch it mate but go to Bristol DPF centre" (Ashley Engines Ltd) and I'm very glad I did. They carried out a prompt and detailed diagnosis followed by a very accurate, (as it turned out), estimate of the work and parts required. After I accepted the plan they held onto the van and the work was all finished exactly when they said it would be. Everything they had had to do was explained with great patience and I felt that all the staff really cared about doing a first rate job. Now the engine runs like new and I'm very glad to have found such a quality company to deal with!
Have your wits about you if you decide to use Bristol DPF Centre (AKA Ashley Engines), they gave me a £4K estimate which mostly included parts that didn’t require replacing (turbo & DPF) and I have a suspicion the estimate was going to get knowingly bumped up once they started work. I took my van into Bristol DPF centre due to it frequently performing regenerations and puffing out white smoke. They took it in and provided a quotation that recommended to replace the turbo due to the actuator valve being seized - this was obviously not the case as there was no lack in power or error codes to indicate this. Furthermore, I removed the actuator to confirm and found it was not seized at all. I rang Bristol DPF Centre to ask for an explanation on how they thought it was seized, I was assured I’d be called back - I wasn’t. They also quoted to replace the DPF due to it reaching extremely hot temperatures and potentially being melted - I have no idea if this is a typical thing to recommend, but after I found the turbo was fine, I had my suspicions that the DPF might also be ok - I cleaned it myself which brought the pressure across it down to normal levels and the van has just passed its MOT which leads me to believe it only needed a clean and not replacing. Also in the quote was a new temperature sensor which was working perfectly fine and also didn’t need replacement. They recommended to have the injectors removed and tested - but new injectors were not included in the quote. I took the van to another DPF specialist who took one look at the diagnostics readout and identified that one of the injectors was flowing significantly different fueling compared with the others (see picture of negative value in cylinder 2) - in hindsight, this was blindingly obvious and I’m confused as to why Bristol DPF centre didn’t suggest this as the first course of action instead of the turbo and DPF replacement - unless they were trying to upsell me other parts that I didn’t need to start with. I’ve since had the injectors replaced and the van is now running back to normal after several long drives and passing an MOT. I wouldn’t recommend Bristol DPF centre, but if you do use them, make sure you’re comfortable to sanity checking some of their prognosis because I came very close to spending £4K with them which was completely unnecessary
