Alba Chimney & Stove Services

We would like to say a big thank you to Bruce and his team at Alba Chimney & Stove Services for the excellent work they have done for us. From the very beginning, Bruce was in touch and guided us through every stage of the process. His communication was clear, supportive, and reassuring, which made what could have been a complicated project feel very manageable. It was also very easy to schedule the initial visit — we didn’t have to wait long, and Bruce was punctual, which we really appreciated. It’s clear that he respects his customers’ time. We received a competitive quote along with valuable advice, not only on the technical side but also on the aesthetic aspects of the installation. This helped us make confident decisions that worked both practically and visually for our home. The installation itself was carried out in two stages. First, the hearth — a beautiful piece of Brazilian slate in two colours — was installed. Then came the box, the stove, and the surround. Throughout the process, the team worked very tidily and treated our property with care and respect. After the installation, Bruce carried out a full trial and took the time to explain how to operate the stove properly. We also appreciated the welcoming discount on logs from local suppliers — a thoughtful and useful touch. Our project was not straightforward. The original fireplace in our 1913 Edwardian villa had been converted into a gas burner in the 1970s, with amateur brickwork and extensive additional cladding. This all had to be removed, and the original recess cleared of messy brick and stonework. Bruce and his team approached this challenge with professionalism and confidence. From the very beginning, we felt we could trust their expertise. We are very glad we chose Alba Chimney & Stove Services and went through this process with such genuine support and attention from our contractors.

Phoned Bruce about cleaning my chimney which turned out to be a much bigger job than expected. Whoever had fitted my fire and liner had cemented the liner in the chimney which was ripped and had to be replaced. Bruce and his team worked hard trying to remove the liner with great difficulty as it was stuck .with shear hard work and great knowledge it was removed and a new one replaced.Bruce also replaced parts in my woodburner and repositioned my fire for better efficiency. Great job done I've organised a yearly chimney clean .highly recommend

Highly recommended. Bruce and his team are knowledgable, reliable and trustworthy. Have been using their chimney sweep services over a number of years and have also had 2 log burners fitted. Fantastic service.

We first used Bruce and his team for a log burner installation. They did a great job at a fair price, and we've continued to use them every year for sweeping and maintenance. Would recommend.

I first used Alba a few years ago when my masonry chimney collapsed internally. Bruce identified the problems and sorted them out. More recently, my 40 year old stove came to the end of its life. Again, I engaged Bruce to replace the old stove with a modern, more efficient, and more attractive model. Bruce is very knowledgable, and his prices are much lower than other installers working in this area. If you are looking for a stove, I’d recommend you contact Alba. You won’t be disappointed.
